The thought/idea/concept of things going terribly/completely/horribly wrong can be distressing/unsettling/frightening. But while it's easy to get caught up in a spiral of anxiety/fear/worry, sometimes facing/acknowledging/contemplating the worst-case scenario can actually help/benefit/aid us. By imagining/visualizing/thinking about the most unlikely/extreme/damaging outcomes, we can prepare/plan/strategize for them and potentially mitigate/reduce/minimize their impact.
